What is Secretlab NanoFoam™ Composite?
Our trademark medium-firm cold-cure foam, now with a soft-cushion microfoam top. We developed a proprietary process to engineer its unique foam composite mix. Secretlab NanoFoam™ Composite is our softest and most supportive foam yet, fusing benefits previously thought impossible in the same material.
Creating Secretlab NanoFoam™ Composite
For decades, it was thought that foam couldn’t be both soft and supportive. Traditional foams required a trade-off between soft comfort and firm support. Too-soft foams lack the necessary ergonomic support. But if a foam is too firm, it can become uncomfortable to sit on.

Our chairs are designed with the most demanding users in mind — many of whom spend over 16 hours a day seated. An array of advanced pressure mapping sensors lets us study how pressure shifts and builds up over long hours, allowing us to optimize the foam density and composition for even weight distribution and maximum pressure relief.

Secretlab NanoFoam™ Composite breaks convention with a proprietary multi-layer foam composite — it retains all the crucial weight distribution and pressure-relieving properties of our cold-cure foam, while delivering a softly cushioned feel that molds to your body.
By perfecting the interaction between our cold-cure foam base layer and the microfoam top, we were able to create a gentle cushioned feel at the point of contact and maintain a supportive foundation even as you change postures.

We have produced over 60 billion cm³ of cold-cure foam to date. That’s the equivalent of filling 120 football fields with our foam. Our economies of scale give us access to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, allowing us full control over every step of the process.


optimal cushioning sensation
Specialized Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and pressure mapping software allow us to optimize the thickness ratio and position of our cold-cure foam and microfoam across the seat base and backrest, down to the millimeter. By using a biomechanical model of the human body and simulating the stress on internal tissues, we were able to identify which areas of the seat require more support or greater softness. To account for different body types, individual parameters such as body weight, body surface area, and lower limb muscle volume were considered to develop a formulation that would work for the vast majority of users.
The microfoam top is purposefully absent from the rear of the seat base for increased support when reclined, delivering targeted support at pressure points. It increases in thickness as you move toward the front of the seat, enhancing softness in high-contact areas such as the seat edge.
nano-based adhesive
Conventional bonding methods create a hardened middle layer that degrades the performance of the foam. We developed a proprietary nano-based adhesive that is incredibly strong, yet practically invisible. This ensures an uninterrupted interface between foam layers for greater consistency and responsiveness, effectively eliminating any middle layer between the foam layers that can affect its responsiveness and ability to contour and adapt to your body.
